Varsity Basketball vs. Berkshire: L 38-51

Recap: Porter’s took the floor Monday night against Class B opponent Berkshire. After a strong start by Porter’s, Berkshire rallied back taking the lead going into halftime. Porter’s struggled to get stops on the defensive end and shot 27% (13-49) from the field.Leading all scorers for Porter’s was Ana Bartkiewicz ’20 with 9 points (6 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block). Bartkiewicz shot 33% from the floor (3-9) and 75% from the free throw line (3-4). Also chipping in for Porter’s were Evie Perez ’17 (8 points, 7 rebounds), Kyla Gallagher ’20 (6 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 steal), Clare Porter ’19 (5 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Callie Godfrey ’20 (4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks), Delaney Nwachukwu ’20 (4 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks), and Sarah Zukowski ’19 (2 points, 2 rebounds). Wednesday, January 25Varsity Basketball vs. Choate: L 54-61Recap: Freshman Kyla Gallagher led Porter’s with 14 points (6 steals, 3 rebounds) Wednesday afternoon falling to Choate in overtime 54-61. Porter’s came out of the gates slow headed to the locker room down 23-32 at the half.

Porter’s started the second half strong on the defensive end eventually tying the game up at 49-49 with less than a 25 seconds to go. Porter’s had a chance to win the game put missed the layup forcing overtime. Porter’s struggled to create offensively in overtime allowing Choate to pull out the W.

Also chipping in for Porter’s were Ana Bartkiewicz ’20 (11 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assist), Callie Godfrey ’20 (10 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block), Evie Perez ’17 (9 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal), Clare Porter’s 19 (7 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, 2 assist, 2 blocks), Sarah Zukowski ’19 (2 points, 2 rebounds), Lila Conners (1 point, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal).

Porter’s finished the game with 51 rebounds (25 offensive/26 defensive), 17 steals, and 7 assist.

Varsity Squash vs. Williston Northampton: W 7-0
Recap: Porter's made the drive up to the Williston Northampton School on Saturday to take on the Wildcats. After a slow January, with some of our toughest Founders League competition, and three weeks full of illness, absence due to travel, and the like, the Green are back with their first match with all regular league players in the ladder. All matches were competitive, and Maddy Schwartz '17 pulled out an important win at no. 6 in five games.

Varsity Swimming and Diving vs. Ethel Walker: W 95-80
Recap: After three weeks of interMission, the Porter's swim and dive team came back with a strong win against Ethel Walkers. Porter's dominated in the 200 Medley Relay, diving, 200 Freestyle, and 500 Freestyle. Full meet results can be found on www.nepssa.org.

Saturday, January 28
Varsity Basketball vs. Ethel Walker: W 42-36
Recap: Ana Bartkiewicz ‘20 led Porter’s to the victory over Ethel Walker (42-36) with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assist, and 2 blocks. Bartkiewicz shot 45% from the field (5-11) and 50% from behind the arc (3-6).
Porter’s came out strong in the first half, taking advantage of the 2-3 zone Walker’s was playing. At the half, Porter’s went into the locker room with a 14-point lead (24-10). Walker’s wasn’t ready to give up yet and started the second half strong putting Porter’s to the test. Porter’s kept their composure and was able to control the tempo of the game.

Also chipping in for Porter’s were Delaney Nwachukwu ’20 with (11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks), Evie Perez ’17 (5 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block), Callie Godfrey ’20 (4 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assist, 2 blocks), Kyla Gallagher ’20 (4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist), Julia Teti ’19 (2 points), Lila Conners ’20 (2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist).

Porter’s finished the game with 44 rebounds (11 offensive/33 defensive), 10 assist and 8 blocks. Porter’s improves to 5-1 in league play and 12-3 overall.

Varsity Squash vs. Millbrook: L 2-5
Recap: Porter's was looking forward to a tight match with the Millbrook School. Annie Buenaventura '17 and Claire Ji '19 lost close five-game decisions at the three and five spots. Talia Welker '19 at two lost a close four-game decision. Wins were scored by Roanna Zou '19 at seven and Sam Houle '17, who pulled out a five-game match at the number one position.
