Monday, February 6

Varsity Basketball vs. Watkinson: L 50-52Recap: Porter’s fell short to an aggressive Rams team Monday afternoon (50-52). Porter’s played well doing a great job of sharing the ball and playing great team defense. With only five seconds left on the clock and down by 2, Porter’s had a chance to tie it but the shot didn’t fall. The team shot 34% from the floor (19-56) and pulled down 43 boards (19 offensive/24 defensive).

Leading Porter’s with her fifth double, double of the season was Callie Godfrey ’20. Godfrey had 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 steals.

Also contributing were Lila Conners ’20 (11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assist, 3 blocks, 1 steal), Ana Bartkiewicz ’20 (10 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assist, 2 steals), Evie Perez ’17 (7 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal), Kyla Gallagher ’20 (6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal), Julia Teti ’19 (2 points) and Julia Harrell ’17 (2 points).

Defensively Emily Wogelius ’17 and Conner’s did a great job of shutting down Watkinson’s two offensive threats. Porter’s finished the game with 11 assist and 10 steals and will be back on the road again Wednesday to take on another tough opponent, Northfield Mount Hermon.

Varsity Basketball vs. Northfield Mt. Hermon: L 37-64

Recap: With several players out due to injuries Porter’s struggled to get into the groove of things Wednesday afternoon falling to NMH (37-64). Porter’s shot 22% (11-50) from the field and got hammered on the boards.Leading Porter’s was freshman Ana Bartkiewicz with 17 points. To go along with that she had 6 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 steal.

Also contributing were Evie Perez ’17 (6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 steal), Lila Conners ’20 (5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals), Callie Godfrey ’20 (4 points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks, 1 steal), Kyla Gallagher ’20 (3 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist), Emily Wogelius ’17 (2 points, 1 steal).

Varsity Squash vs. Ethel Walker: L 3-4

Varsity Squash vs. Canterbury: W 7-0

Recap: In a close match with Ethel Walker School at their new home facility, Porter's lost two five game decisions at no. 7 and no. 2. That was enough to put Walkers over the top. Porters scored wins by Annie Buenaventura '17 at 3, Riti Sharma '17 at 4, and Sam Houle '17 at 1. A good win for all against the Canterbury School.

Varsity Swimming and Diving vs. Canterbury: W 100-74
