Varsity Golf @ Pippy O'Connor Tournament
Recap: On Monday, Porter's participated in the 2018 Pippy O'Connor Independent School Golf Classic. Four players participated in the 18 hole match and three took part in the 9 hole match. Every Porter's player improved on her score from the previous year and those playing for the first time did a tremendous job. First-year student Leslie Li tied for 29th out of 67 players in the 18 hole division, shooting a team-best 91.

Varsity Softball vs. Cheshire Academy: L 2-4
Varsity Tennis vs. Canterbury: L 3-4
Recap: The team was lucky to have the opportunity to compete on a beautiful afternoon at Canterbury's courts. #1 singles Sarah Wagner '20 and #2 singles Roanna Zou '19 earned two of the team's three points. #1 doubles Audrey Palmeri '18 and Marjorie Plants '21 overpowered their opponents to earn the third point for Porter's. The #2 doubles team of Anna Wight '18 and Sofia Gonzales '18 and the #3 doubles team of Jenn Hehn '18 and Nitya Shah '20 put up good fights, but neither was able to earn the fourth point needed for Porter's to take the win. JVers Paulina Azzu '21 and Eliza Nicholson '19 stepped up to fill in at #3 and #4 singles, respectively, and while they tried their best against the Canterbury opponents, they succumbed as well.

Varsity Golf vs. Westminster: L 2-3
Varsity Lacrosse vs. Westover: W 14-1
Recap: Porter's faced off against Westover on Wednesday. We played a strong game both offensively and defensively. Defense continuously came up with big stop after big stop. Sasha Provost '22 played the whole game in goal, only allowing 1 goal during the first half. Offensively, we had 12 people score throughout the game. Including first varsity goals from Ruby Eisler '22, Evelyn Lewis '18, Sofie Brandt '19, and Alexia Cusano '20.
Varsity Softball vs. Westover: W 11-4
Thursday, May 17
Varsity Lacrosse vs. Westminster: W 6-5
Recap: Porter's Varsity Lacrosse played an excellent game against a talented Westminster team. We started off strong dominating the draw and showing patience and confidence on both attack and defense. While Westminster held the ball for most of the first half, Porter's defense was on fire and held Westminster to only 2 goals. The start of the second half the score was 1-2. Lila Conners '20 kicked it up a notch and 2 quick goals to put us in the lead. Conners '20 finished the day with 5 goals. Adi Jalinskas '18 scored the goal to give us the lead with 5 minutes left. It was a grueling 5 last minutes but Porter's held Westminster scoreless for over 13 minutes. Sofie Brandt '19 had a great game in goal making 13 saves. It was truly a team effort, from the lowest defense to the highest attack Porter's played with confidence, grit, and tenacity.

Varsity Track & Field @ NEPSTA Championships
Recap: Porter's School varsity athletes finished their season at the NEPSTA Division 1 Championship on Saturday, May 19th. Sydni Scott '18 came in 1st place in both horizontal jumping events with 16'6.25'' in the Long Jump and 34'6.5'' in the Triple Jump.
In the 200 meter dash, Bella Heath '20 earned a spot in the finals amongst a competitive field of sprinters with a time of 27.95. Other highlights included personal bests in the 400 meters from Alba Clarke '20 with a time of 1:03.5 and Mackenzie Kievman '18 with a time of 1:04.66. Both girls broke the top ten with these impressive finishing times.
Lastly, co-captains Kyra Bukowski '18 and Miriam Mathew '18, 4-year veterans of the team and dedicated and talented athletes, each earned career personal records in their respective events. Bukowski '18 ran the 800 meters in 2:39.84 and Mathew '18 finished the 300-meter hurdles in 52.61.
