Founded in 2010 by Wang Ning, Pop Mart has become a global brand in the designer toy market, known for collectible vinyl figures sold in sealed “blind boxes.”
The packaging conceals which character is inside, creating a surprise element that encourages collecting and trading among fans.
The company produces a range of original characters, including Labubu, Molly, Pucky, Dimoo, and Hirono.
Many figures are released in limited runs and are designed by artists, helping the brand gain a following among collectors and young adults.
In addition to its original characters, Pop Mart has released licensed collectibles tied to franchises such as Disney, Harry Potter, and Minions.
The retailer has expanded rapidly outside China with hundreds of stores and automated vending kiosks—known as “Robo Shops”—in major cities worldwide, including a growing presence in the United States.
Officials at Westfarms Mall have not yet announced when the new store will open.
