Westfarms Mall Closed Monday Due to 'Abundance of Caution'
The shopping center which straddles the Farmington-West Hartford line is closed for an undefined period of time.

FARMINGTON-WEST HARTFORD, CT — Apparent concerns over the recent rioting in cities across America following the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer have prompted officials of Westfarms Mall to close the shopping center Monday for an undefined period of time.
A spokesperson for the mall, Amanda Sirica, said in a written statement, "We continue to partner with local law enforcement and have determined to close the center out of an abundance of caution. We will keep the community informed of our reopening plans."
The mall's website contained the words, "Westfarms is closed today" in three different locations on the top portion of its home page.
