What a difference 1,488 days make!
BHO was awarded the Nobel Peace prize on Oct 9, 2009. According to the Nobel Committee “Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics.”
And only 1,488 days later the “CHANGE" may not have worked out quite the way they had “HOPED”. According to Egyptian newspaper El Watan, "a group of Egyptian lawyers has submitted a complaint charging U.S. President Barrack Hussein Obama with crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court” in the Hague.
A saying from the religious tradition of my youth comes to mind concerning Feet of Clay and Temporal Rulers. I believe it was a reference to the interpretation of the dreams of Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon [not the hovercraft in the Matrix] by the prophet Daniel as recounted in the Book of Daniel 2:31-33 DRB
"Thou, O king, sawest, and behold there was as it were a great statue: this statue, which was great and high, tall of stature, stood before thee, and the look thereof was terrible.
The head of this statue was of fine gold, but the breast and the arms of silver, and the belly and the thighs of brass:
And the legs of iron, the feet part of iron and part of clay."
The philosopher George Santayana was evidently correct when he said in Reason in Common Sense that "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat .... "
Is it possible that the first Baron of Acton was also correct and that "absolute power corrupts absolutely"? Once a President starts heading in this direction, how easy will it be to walk the road traveled by Scipio Aemilianus Africanus? Recall that he is alleged to have plowed under the city, salted the fields, poisoned the wells, taken the remaining wealth as tribute, killed the surviving men and enslaved the woman and children after he defeated Carthage at the end of the Third Punic War.
The fight between Progressive Collectivism and Individual Liberty could escalate into a modern "Punic War" and if that were to occur, would BHO be cast as another Scipio Aemilianus Africansu [no reference to race or parentage intended]? How many steps are there between "looking really good at killing people [using drones]" and salted fields right here in Red State America? How many more days does it take to travel that far; especially, when your stated goal is the fundamental transformation of our Constitutional Democratic Republic which you believe is necessary for the greater good? Forget Carmen Sandiego where in the world is Cindy Sheehan?
