Woman Charged With Injuring Baby at Farmington Daycare Center

She was arrested Friday on a warrant stemming from an investigation which began in early July, police said.

FARMINGTON, CT — A former worker at a Farmington day care center was arrested Friday on a warrant alleging she inflicted injuries on a 5-month-old girl in her care, police said.

Lisa Dalke, 52, of Plainville, was charged with risk of injury to a minor, and was held on $85,00 bond, Lt. Tim McKenzie said.

On July 6, 2018, the Farmington Police Department was notified by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) of an incident that took place the previous day at the Scott Swamp Kindercare, located at 197 Scott Swamp Road.

Detectives opened an investigation and determined a 5-month-old girl was first taken to Bristol Hospital on July 5 by the baby’s parents. She was transferred later that day to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for treatment of her injuries, McKenzie said.

An affidavit supporting Delke's arrest indicates the baby sustained bruising under both eyes and arms, on her chest and on her upper gum. The investigation revealed the girl’s injuries were sustained while under the direct care of Dalke, a Scott Swamp Kindercare employee. An arrest warrant was applied for and granted, McKenzie said.
