Woman Killed in Highway Crash in Farmington

The fatal crash occurred on Interstate 84 in Farmington in the early morning hours Monday, according to police.

FARMINGTON, CT — A single-car crash on Interstate 84 early Monday morning claimed the life of a Bloomfield resident, according to state police.

Around 1:25 a.m., a 2003 Acura 3.2 CL was traveling eastbound when the car left the right side of the highway about a half-mile east of exit 39A. The car struck a metal beam guide rail, then came to rest against some trees down a small embankment, police said.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, Sherryann J. Haylett, 24, of 307 Park St., Bloomfield, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Michael Quagliaroli at Troop H, 860-534-1000.
