A project is bringing 61 units of 55-and-older housing to the Farmington-Plainville line.

FARMINGTON, CT — Construction has begun on a development that will ultimately bring 61 units of 55-and-older housing to the Farmington-Plainville line.
It's the latest project in the area by Southington-based Newport Realty Group. Initial occupancy for one of four phases is targeted for this spring. Newport principals Tony Valenti and Mark Lovley said primary construction at the 25-acre Route 177 parcel began this week.
Valenti said the land is about half and half between Farmington and Plainville, but 23 units will be physically in Farmington and 38 are slated for Plainville with taxes paid to the towns in which each respective unit resides.
