Worker Badly Hurt At Farmington High Construction Site: Police

Farmington police said the worker fell and was rushed to the hospital Thursday morning.

FARMINGTON, CT — A construction worker was seriously injured Thursday morning after falling at the construction site for the new Farmington High School on Monteith Drive.

According to the Farmington Police Department, the fall happened shortly before 7:25 a.m. Thursday, when the Farmington Police Department, Tunxis Hose Fire Department and UConn Health Center Ambulance responded to the report of a worker who fell at the construction site.

Police said the worker was transported by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital for further evaluation.

The Farmington Fire Marshal along with Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident, police said.

On March 13, school and town officials celebrated the "topping off" of the FHS construction project with a special ceremony commemorating the milestone in the project.

At the ceremony, construction crews put the final steel beam in place, which is an important step in the life of any major building project of this scope.

The high school project has seen voters approve a total of $145.3 million in two separate referendums in 2021 and 2022.
