10 Recognizable Glastonbury Restaurants Flunk Alcohol Checks: Cops
Some high-profile names are on a list of establishments that sold alcohol to underage undercover customers in Glastonbury, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Ten very recognizable restaurants are on a list of businesses that failed a recent alcohol compliance check detail in Glastonbury.
Police said that, on Jan. 9, members of the Glastonbury Police Department's Youth Unit, in cooperation with the state Department of Consumer Protection's Liquor Control Division, conducted undercover alcohol compliance checks at various bars and restaurants in town.
A total of 10 locations were tested for compliance and all the locations sold alcohol products to youth volunteers, police said.

Police said the following establishments were out of compliance:
- 99 Restaurant - 3025 Main Street
- Chili's Grill & Bar - 2855 Main Street
- Bertucci's Italian Restaurant - 2882 Main Street
- Maggie McFly's - 40 Glastonbury Boulevard
- Clubhouse on Main - 2866 Main Street
- Plan b - 120 Hebron Avenue
- Sakura Garden - 120 Hebron Avenue
- Diamond Pub & Grill - 195 Hebron Avenue
- First & Last Tavern - 21 Rankin Road
- Square Peg Pizzeria - 1001 Hebron Avenue
"Further investigation and subsequent enforcement action regarding the sale to minors in violation of permitting will be handled by the Liquor Control Commission," police said. "Establishments found violating the law may be fined and could face suspension of their liquor license."

The operation was funded by a Local Prevention Council Grant administered by Amplify and provided to the Glastonbury Community Action Partnership, which is committed to "working to prevent drug and alcohol misuse in the Glastonbury Community."
Police said residents with concerns or information related to youth drug or alcohol activity/violations can contact the Glastonbury Police Department’s Youth Unit or submit an anonymous tip online through the department’s website — www.glastonburyct.gov/police.
