2 Women Are Accused of Shoplifting From Glastonbury Whole Foods Store

Each woman was issued a misdemeanor summons for sixth-degree larceny in connection with the theft of groceries.

Glastonbury Police have issued misdemeanor summonses to two women in connection with the theft of groceries in two separate incidents at the Whole Foods store on Welles Street.

According to a police report, Andrea Fitzer, 60 of Mark Drive, Glastonbury, was issued a summons for sixth-degree larceny on Sept. 1 after she allegedly placed more than $87 worth of groceries inside a bag and left the store without paying for the items. She was given a Sept. 16 date to appear in state Superior Court in Manchester.

On Sept. 8, Kelly Thornton, 53, of Fern Street, Hartford, was issued a summons for sixth-degree larceny in connection with the attempted theft of more than $63 worth of merchandise from the store, according to a police report. Thornton was given a Sept. 23 date to appear in state Superior Court in Manchester.
