Three Glastonbury boaters were tossed from their craft when it struck a large wake Saturday afternoon on a New Hampshire lake, authorities said.
The trio was riding in a 14-foot aluminum boat behind a larger boat that was creating a large wake on Crescent Lake in Wolfeboro, according to New Hampshire Marine Patrol.
Two of the boaters—identified as Christine Curry and Erin Curry—were hurt, as the engine continued to run and struck them in the leg and hip, respectively, Marine Patrol said. They were transported to Huggins Hospital for treatment.

The third occupant—Patrick Curry—swam back to the boat and shut off the engine. Marine Patrol said the boat was equipped with an engine shut off lanyard but it was not being worn. They added the incident should serve as a reminder of the importance of the devices.
The incident happened at about 1:45 p.m.
