GLASTONBURY, CT — Construction is set to begin May 6 on the new Addison Playground, according to an announcement about the project from Glastonbury officials.

The work will replace the current playground structure for children ages 5-12, while parts of the site that are not under construction will remain open during the project.

The project will replace the current structure designed for ages 5 through –12.

Officials said residents who use the playground will still have some access while work is underway.

The project is expected to continue into early summer.

The funding support for the project includes help from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development.

According to the announcement, that funding will extend beyond Addison Playground.

"This funding will also help us improve Buckingham, JB Williams, and High Street playgrounds later this summer - more details coming soon," officials said.
