Eversource Releases Annual Town-By-Town Reliability Scorecards: See The Results For Glastonbury

GLASTONBURY, CT — Eversource Energy Wednesday released its annual electric reliability scorecard list for Glastonbury and its 148 other service area municipalities in Connecticut. The scorecards represent town-by-town snapshots of the utility's performance in Connecticut.

Utility officials said, "As the scorecards demonstrate, Eversource’s electric reliability has greatly improved and customers have experienced significant benefits due to continued investments in the distribution system and vegetation management over the last 10 years."

The improvements, officials said, include:

• Months Between Power Interruptions: System reliability continues to strengthen, with the average customer now experiencing one interruption every 20 months, representing a 15 percent improvement since 2017.
• Electric System Automation: Continued investments in distribution system automation in outage monitoring systems and field technology – 42 percent of customers affected by an outage in 2025 were restored within five minutes, significantly reducing disruption and improving customer experience.
• Avoided Outages: Eversource estimates that more than 1.5 million customer interruptions were avoided across the state in 2025 as a result of investments in distribution system automation.

Through local data, the annual electric reliability scorecards break down the primary causes, duration and frequency of power outages in each of the 149 municipalities Eversource serves, allowing communities to see how they compare to the statewide average.

The scorecard data also includes information on the energy company’s investments in system reliability and resiliency projects locally, showcasing how strategic grid upgrades result in direct benefits for customers – improving quality of life for residents and productivity for businesses.

"Throughout the year, we use this comprehensive reliability data along with strategic cost-benefit analyses to identify where improvements to the system are needed and make targeted investments – like installing automated technology or conducting enhanced tree trimming – that help to reduce outages and restore power faster for customers.

"These scorecards are a clear demonstration of how our everyday efforts to bolster the grid make a tangible difference for customers while also providing real insight into the progress that still needs to be made so that we don’t leave any customer or community behind.
