Teacher Appreciation Event in Glastonbury - Guru Vandana

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), Glastonbury celebrated Guru Vandana - Teacher Appreciation Event in Glastonbury on May 16th, 2026

‘Guru Vandana’ or Teacher Appreciation is an initiative by HSS to honor the teachers & mentors who play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of their students. This has been celebrated for the past four years in Glastonbury. The ‘Guru’ or the Teacher, who kindles the light of knowledge is revered in the Hindu culture for thousands of years.

Students invited their teachers from various fields - academics, sports and music for a cultural program involving skit, song, dances, musical instruments and expressed their gratitude to the teachers in traditional Hindu custom. Several teachers participated and appreciated this event. Students were excited to have pictures with their teachers in traditional costumes.

HSS is a non profit, socio-cultural, volunteer-driven organization that works to develop strong character, leadership, and civic responsibility in youth and families.
