Glastonbury Route 83 Road Work Set For June 15-30 With Lane Closures

GLASTOPNBURY, CT — Glastonbury drivers will encounter road work on Route 83 later this month as the Connecticut Department of Transportation begins a milling and resurfacing project between Route 94, also known as Hebron Avenue, and the Glastonbury-Manchester town line.

According to CTDOT, the work is scheduled to start Monday, June 15, 2026, and continue through Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

The project covers about 2.22 miles of roadway on Route 83 in Glastonbury. According to CTDOT, milling operations are scheduled from June 15 through June 19, and resurfacing work is scheduled from June 22 through June 30.

The agency said the work is part of CTDOT's 2026 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

Motorists should expect lane closures along Route 83 between Hebron Avenue and the Manchester town line during construction, according to CTDOT. The agency said traffic control personnel and signage will be in place to guide drivers through the work zone. Work is scheduled for Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For residents who use Route 83 for daily trips, the main effect will be slower travel during daytime work hours. CTDOT encouraged drivers to allow extra travel time, use caution when traveling through the area and follow posted traffic control measures. The schedule is subject to change because of weather or other unforeseen conditions, according to the agency.
