GLASTONBURY, CT — The town of Glastonbury Thursday announced the appointment of Douglas J. "DJ" Zordan as the new municipal fire marshal.
He will begin his role on June 15.
Here is the official announcement:
"DJ brings more than 20 years of experience in fire prevention, code enforcement, fire investigations, emergency management, and municipal public safety leadership. He currently serves as Fire Marshal for the town of Newington, where he oversees fire and life safety code enforcement, inspections, and investigations.
"His background also includes serving as a fire service trainer for the State of Connecticut, where he developed and delivered instruction in fire code enforcement and fire investigation. Earlier in his career, DJ held roles as Deputy Fire Marshal, Firefighter/EMT, and Assistant Chief with the Cromwell Fire Department. He also gained additional public safety and emergency response experience with Hamilton Sundstrand in Windsor Locks.
"In Glastonbury, DJ will oversee the Town’s fire prevention and inspection programs, code enforcement activities, fire investigations, and public education efforts. He will work closely with Town departments, businesses and residents to support ongoing fire safety and risk reduction efforts."
