GLASTONBURY, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation will implement traffic changes in Glastonbury as part of ongoing work on Route 17 and New London Turnpike.
The left-hand Exit 36 off-ramp from Route 17 southbound will permanently close Thursday, Oct. 1, at 9 a.m.
Motorists traveling southbound on Route 17 should use Exit 35, enter the new roundabout and travel eastbound on New London Turnpike.
A section of New London Turnpike between Oak Street and the Route 17 northbound Exit 34 off-ramp will also be temporarily closed from 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, through 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, for bridge demolition. Detours will be posted.
Motorists should expect traffic controls, allow additional travel time and use caution while traveling through the work areas.
The changes are part of CTDOT Project No. 0053-0189, which includes construction of a new roundabout on New London Turnpike and modifications to Route 17.
