GLASTONBURY, CT — Eversource plans to begin a transmission line replacement project in Glastonbury on Oct. 26, with construction expected to continue through December, weather and other conditions permitting.

The Line 1767 Asset Condition Replacement Project will replace three existing wooden transmission structures with new weathering steel structures to help maintain the reliability and safety of the electric transmission system, according to the company.

Work will take place on Eversource-owned property and within the existing transmission right-of-way near Bell Street and Hebron Avenue in Glastonbury. Some structures will be accessed from Bush Hill Road in Manchester.

Construction activities may include site preparation, surveying, vegetation clearing as needed, improvements to access roads and work areas, installation of temporary construction matting, drilling and foundation work, installation of the new structures and site restoration.

Typical construction hours are expected to be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Sunday work may be necessary because of weather, project conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.

The entrance to Addison Bog Trail is near the construction area, but the trail will remain open throughout the project. Flaggers will be present as needed to manage construction activities and help protect trail users, pedestrians and workers.

Eversource does not anticipate any impacts to electric service as a result of the project.

The company is coordinating with the towns of Glastonbury and Manchester, Parks and Recreation officials, and residents near the construction area. The schedule may change because of weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Residents with questions or concerns can contact Eversource at 800-793-2202 or projectinfo@eversource.com.
