Glastonbury agricultural businesses can apply for Connecticut's 2027 Farm Transition Grant program, according to notices from the Town of Glastonbury and on gcappreventioncouncil.org. The Connecticut Department of Agriculture is accepting applications through Monday, Jan. 11, 2027, at 4 p.m. EST.
Nearly $750,000 is available to help Connecticut for-profit agricultural producers and cooperatives expand production, diversify operations and pursue new opportunities. Awards range from $500 to $49,999, with required cash matches of 25% to 50%, depending on the grant category.
The four categories are New Farmer Micro Grant, Infrastructure Investment Grant, Research and Development Grant, and Innovation and Diversification Grant. The town's notice attributes the increased funding to the 2025 state budget.
All applications must go through the new Euna Grants online portal, and applicants are encouraged to create accounts before submitting. Application materials, eligibility guidance, webinar registration and office-hour access are available on the Farm Transition Grant webpage.
The department will hold a Microsoft Teams webinar Thursday, Nov. 19, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., covering the program, application components and submission process. Its grant webpage also lists virtual Teams office hours Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m., and Monday, Jan. 4, 2027, from 3 to 4 p.m., for application, submission and project-specific questions.
The town plans to contact local farmers directly about the opportunity and informational sessions. Applicants can direct content questions to Alison Grabarz at Alison.Grabarz@ct.gov and portal technical questions to Support@amplifund.zendesk.com or 844-407-3572.
