Glastonbury Sewer Bills Must Be Paid By Nov. 30 To Avoid Delinquency

The town outlines payment options, online account changes and holiday closures ahead of the sewer bill deadline.

Glastonbury sewer use bills become delinquent after Monday, Nov. 30, according to the Town of Glastonbury. Bills mailed Saturday, Oct. 31, were due Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026. Delinquent charges accrue interest at 1.5% per month, dating back to Sunday, Nov. 1, under state law.

Residents can pay online or view their balance. Following the town's vendor change Tuesday, Sept. 1, previous account holders and automatic-payment users must create new accounts and reestablish payment information and automatic-payment settings. Online fees are 95 cents for electronic checks, 2.5% for credit cards with a $1.50 minimum and 1.5% for debit cards with a $1.95 minimum.

Check payments can be deposited in the Town Hall drop box on the exterior wall to the right of the main entrance. The box does not accept cash. Payments also can be mailed to Town of Glastonbury Revenue Collection, PO Box 376, Glastonbury, CT 06033-0376. Mailed payments must bear a U.S. Postal Service postmark dated Monday, Nov. 30, or earlier to count as on time.

In-person payments are accepted at the Revenue Collection office, 2155 Main St., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office accepts checks or cash only. Town Hall will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11, Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27, so taxpayers should arrange payment accordingly.

Returned payments carry a $15 fee. Taxpayers who have not received a bill should contact the Revenue Collection Office at 860-652-7612. Not receiving a bill does not invalidate the charge or penalties if the account becomes delinquent, according to the town. Questions about a bill should go to the Water Pollution Control Division at 860-652-7772.
