Arrest Made in Three-Year Old Rolex Theft Case

The man allegedly stole a Rolex watch at a Glastonbury store in Nov. 2012.

A Glastonbury man has been charged with first-degree larceny in connection with the theft of an expensive Rolex watch from a local jewelry store nearly three years ago.

Charles Moye, 31, was charged Thursday at the Glastonbury Police Department, to where he had been brought from the Essex County Correctional Facility in New Jersey.

In Nov. 2012, Glastonbury Patch reported an unknown man, later identified as Moye, entered the Lux Bond and Green Jewelry store at 140 Glastonbury Boulevard, tried on a Rolex watch and sprinted out the door.

The man got into a dark blue colored Volkswagen Jetta bearing an orange-colored license plate, which sped away from the area, police said at the time.

According to judicial records, Moye is being held in lieu of $200,000 bond. He is due back in court Oct. 1.
