Canoe Enthusiasts Rescued After Drifting From Wethersfield To Glastonbury

Police said the canoe drifted on the Connecticut River to the state ferry dock.

GLASTONBURY/WETHERSFIELD, CT - Some wayward paddlers were rescued from the Connecticut River on Thursday after they lost control of their canoe and drifted from Wethersfield to Glastonbury, according to Glastonbury police.

The call came in at 12:39 p.m. and the paddlers were out of the water by 1:30 p.m., Glastonbury police said.

Glastonbury police estimated that there were "three or four" people in the canoe.

The paddlers lost control of the canoe and began drifting in Wethersfield toward Glastonbury, according to Glastonbury police. Emergency crews were able to get out it out of the water near the state ferry dock, Glastonbury police said.

No one was injured, Glastonbury police said.
