Car Out of Glastonbury Involved in Vernon Gun, Drug Incident

A man in a car registered out of Glastonbury was nabbed with a gun and drugs during a Vernon police operation.

VERNON, CT — A regional law enforcement narcotics operation led to the arrest of a man on drug and gun charges, police said.

On Thursday, members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force, with assistance from the Vernon Police Department patrol division, were conducting surveillance in the Rockville section of Vernon.

During the detail, Vernon officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on a car registered out of Glastonbury, according to a report.

The passenger in the vehicle, identified as 25-year-old Nicholas Tate Wright, was found with a handgun tucked into a brace wrapped around his rib cage, according to a report.

He also had a small amount of crack cocaine on him, a report indicates.

The gun was loaded, according to a report.

Wright was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a report.
