Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta GA
- Patrick Taylor of Glastonbury made the Dean's List for the fall 2018 semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY

- Following a Liberty League Track & Field Championship Meet in which he was selected as the co-Field Performer of the Meet, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute student-athlete Mark Shapiro of Glastonbury and University High School Of Science and Engineering has been named the co-Field Performer of the Week. A junior thrower, Shapiro captured the weight throw in a field of 19 competitors with a toss of 16.52 meters. It came on his fourth attempt and was 0.13 in front of the second place finisher. In his only other event, the shot put, he was third of 21 with a maximum effort of 14.25 meters. That came on his first attempt of the day. Shapiro entered the championship ranked first in the league in the weight throw (17.42) and third in the shot put (13.90m). This is the second straight year the mathematics major has earned the conference Field Performer of the Meet. As a sophomore, he won the shot put (15.38m) and was second in weight throw (15.31m). Shapiro was previously the Field Performer of the Week in late January after he won the 42-competitor weight throw with a maximum effort of 16.78 meters, which came on his fifth attempt. The runner-up reached 16.66 meters.
