Colony Grill Updates Timeline, Features For Glastonbury Opening

GLASTONBURY, CT — Colony Grill has given an update on its expansion into Glastonbury.

The chain, known for its thin-crust pizza with a hot oil topping, has targeted the former Coldwater Creek retail space at the Shops at Somerset Square in Glastonbury.

The update says the newest location is "set to open later this year" at the 130 Glastonbury Boulevard location and and offers several particulars:

• The restaurant will seat m ore than 175 patrons indoors
• It will have a full bar with 12 tap lines
• Multiple TVs will be placed throughout
• The location will feature a large outdoor patio with TVs

"Colony Grill is an exciting addition to The Shops at Somerset Square, and we’re thrilled to welcome such a beloved Connecticut brand to our community. Their unique dining experience and strong commitment to creating gathering places make them a perfect fit for Glastonbury and for our center," said Michele Aponte, the general manager of plaza.

Connecticut locations include Shelton, Milford, Fairfield, Norwalk and Stamford, and there is one close to the Greenwich town line in Port Chester, NY.

The Stamford location goes back to 1935. Colony took over the space in Port Chester once occupied by a hot dog shack in the 1970s that overlooks the Bram River.

"For years, guests from the northeastern part of the state have traveled to dine with us in our original locations, and we’re thrilled to finally bring the Colony Grill experience to them directly in Hartford County," Colony Grill CEO and cop-owner Paul Coniglio said. The Glastonbury location will be Colony Grill’s 11th restaurant and its sixth in Connecticut, following the brand’s opening in Shelton this month.
