Connecticut Section PGA, Ten Penny Ale Unveil New Partnership

GLASTONBURY, CT — The Connecticut Section PGA Wednesday announced a new partnership with East Hartford Brewing, a Connecticut-based brewery formed in 2020 that resurrected the history filled Old Burnside Brewery brand and its widely popular craft beer, Ten Penny Ale.

By way of a "co-branding collaboration," Ten Penny Ale, craft-brewed to the original recipe, becomes the Official Beer of the Connecticut PGA, and East Hartford Brewing becomes the Official Brewery.

"Ten Penny Ale is a smooth, amber-hued mellow version of a Scottish Ale," said Jonathan Hoenig, managing partner for East Hartford Brewing. "It’s the perfect beer for golf enthusiasts. It's easy to drink and it honors golf's Scottish origins."

It's not just about the 19th hole, one PGA official said.

"We are extremely proud to partner with East Hartford Brewing to help deliver a quality craft beer like Ten Penny Ale to the Connecticut golf community and beyond," Connecticut PGA Executive Director Tom Hantke said. "Not only does the team at East Hartford Brewery make amazing beverages for all golfers to enjoy, but they are also a fourth generation family business that through the decades spanned golf course design, construction, and restaurant ownership and management."

During the 2022 season, East Hartford Brewing will be supporting the Connecticut PGA’s Pro-Pro Series, the PGA Pro-Officer, the 40th Connecticut Senior Open, and the PGA Charity Classic that is hosted by the Hartford Golf Club.
