Cops: Police Dog Scam Circulating in Glastonbury

A resident received a call from a phony phone fund, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Local police are warning resident of phone scammers posing as officers asking for assistance for canine units.

Police said they were informed by a resident about a call Friday from someone asking for donations for the "Glastonbury Police K9 drive."

"Please know that Glastonbury PD does not call citizens or businesses asking for donations,: police said in response. "This activity is not related to the police department."

Police said that anyone receiving a similar call to report it by calling the GPD at 860-633-8301.
