Cost Estimate Released for Glastonbury School Air Conditioning Project

GLASTONBURY, CT — The preliminary cost estimate to install air conditioning in local elementary school is $2.74 million, according to documents released on Friday.

The breakdown is:

• Hebron Ave. — $829,860
• Hopewell — $849,766
• Buttonball — $735,254
• Naubuc — $335,268

Potential funding sources are:

• Final design, specifications and cost estimating – Capital Reserve Fund
• Purchase and installation – Capital Reserve and General Fund
• Municipal capital program
• Costs could be offset by in-house services, like the electrical work and installation at Naubuc

Installation work would be targeted for March after the bidding process, town officials said.
