2 Locals Seriously Hurt As 3 Vehicles Crash On Route 3 In Glastonbury
A crash closed a section of Route 3 in Glastonbury late Tuesday morning and two suffered serious injuries.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A crash late Tuesday morning closed part of Route 3 southbound in Glastonbury and left two 79-year-olds from Glastonbury seriously hurt, state police and state Department of Transportation officials said.
The crash was first reported by DOT officials at 10:28 a.m. in area of the Main Street exit, officials said.
The couple hurt was identified as Thomas and Jeanne Hamilton. Both were taken to Hartford Hospital, state police said. Jeannne Hamilton was listed in critical condition Tuesday afternoon, state police said.

The Hamiltons' 2021 Nissan Rogue, along with a 2002 Honda Civic and a 200 Ford F250 pickup, were traveling south on Route 3 in the left lane of two and were approaching an active construction zone, with the right lane and right shoulder closed south of the scene, according to a sate police report.
The Nissan was behind the Honda and both were slowing down near the construction zone when the pickup, being driven by a 58-year-old South Windsor man, failed to slow down and struck the Nissan, which rolled over, according to a state police report.

The truck also hit the Honda.
All others involved suffered minor injuries, according to a state police report.
The crash is still under investigation, state police said.
State police said witnesses can contact the Troop H barracks at 860-534-1000.
