DOT Offering Info Session On Route 2 Work In Glastonbury
A meeting on Route 2 work is on tap for Wednesday.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation has scheduled a virtual public information meeting for Wednesday on the Route 2 Eastbound lane modification program in Glastonbury.
The project stretches from Exit 6 to Exit 8. The meeting is on tap for Wednesday at 7.
The virtual public information meeting is designed to provide the public an opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. The meeting will take place on Zoom and registration is required. A question-and-answer session will immediately follow the presentation. The presentation will be recorded.

"This project will improve lane configuration along Route 2 Eastbound between Exits 6 and 8 to reduce weaving movements and maintain safe traffic flow,” DOT Transportation Project Manager Alvaro Garcia Jr. said. "We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design."

Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated, DOT officials said.
Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2025 based on the availability of funding and approval of permits. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $12 million. The project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80 percent federal funds and 20 percent state funds.
