Driver Killed After Hitting Pole in Glastonbury: Police

Glastonbury police on Thursday were still investigating a fatal crash from the previous night.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Glastonbury police said the driver killed in a Wednesday night crash on Keeney Street was a woman in her 40s.

Authorities were not releasing her identity Thursday morning, citing an investigation still considered to be open.

Police first reported the crash at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday. It involved a single vehicle that struck a utility pole and the woman killed was the sole occupant in the vehicle, police said.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.

Keeney Street was closed for several hours between Howe Road and the Manchester town line as investigators reconstructed the crash and the utility pole was replaced.

The road was open to all traffic by the morning commute.
