GLASTONBURY, CT — Both distracted and drunken driving were cited as a reason for a car hitting a tree in Glastonbury last week.

Police recently released a report on the June 2 incident.

According to the report, at 6:18 p.m. that day, GPD officers and Glastonbury Fire Department personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle was found to have driven off the pavement on Tryon Street and crashed into a nearby tree.

After a "thorough investigation," the operator of the vehicle, a 43-year-old Glastonbury man, was found to be intoxicated and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence, driving while using an electronic hand-held device and failure to drive upon right, the report states.
