Eastbury School Parents Make A Plea To Keep Building Open

A space study has pointed to declining enrollment.

GLASTONBURY — Parents of Eastbury Elementary School are asking the school board to keep the building open, the Hartford Court reported.

The packed Monday's meeting to make the plea, despite the school being targeted for declining enrollment in a space utilization study. That could happen for the 2016-17 academic year.

Many parents said the projections might not be accurate because new families are moving into town and the economy is on the rebound.

Board members could vote on the issue during its regular meeting on May 9.
