Elderly Pedestrian Killed by Vehicle in Glastonbury Driveway

Police are investigating how an elderly person was hit in a driveway in Glastonbury.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in the driveway of a Glastonbury home late Thursday morning, police said. The initial call came into Glastonbury police at about 11 a.m.

Police described the victim as a "elderly female" and she was hit in the driveway of a home at 595 Oakwood Drive, police said.

She was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, police said. Police announced at 12:22 p.m. that she had died.

A preliminary investigation indicates the woman was struck by the vehicle as it was backing out of a garage, police said.

Any witnesses are being asked to contact the Glastonbury Police Department traffic unit at 860-652-4291.
