Fresh to the Market Antique, Vintage and Collectible Attic Heirlooms
The highly anticipated Historical Society of Glastonbury 8th Bi-Annual Auction will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 rain or shine. As you enter the 800 square foot tent on the grounds of the 1755 Connecticut River Valley Mansion known as the Welles Shipman Ward House you’ll feel the excitement, hear the bid calling, and the gavel slamming as the colonel yells “sold!” Under the tent you’ll find fresh to the market “attic heirlooms” such as 18th & 19th century antique furniture, clocks, pottery, china, glassware, bottles, jewelry, sterling silver (including tiffany), vintage games and toys, artwork, hand sewn quilts, hard to find home décor, pop collectibles, vintage items and “lots” more. Auction chair Donna Henrikson notes that the auction has steadily attained a positive reputation among dealers and serious collectors as a source for high quality, and new-to-the-market antiques and collectibles. This auction has something for everyone: from the antique connoisseur to the picker to the casual vintage collector.
