Glastonbury Youth and Family Services is proud to present its 38th Summer Musical, The Wiz, at Glastonbury High School on August 2, 3, and 4 at 7 P.M.
Thanks to local families and sponsors, the auditorium will be transformed into a mystical city where a young girl named Dorothy, played by Jackie DeMaio, is swept into a magical world called “Oz.” With advice from the good witch, and with the help of the unforgettable friends she meets along the way, Dorothy is determined to find her way home and reunite with her family.
Tech crew members have been working hard to design the Oz with bursts of color and graffiti.

“We're taking abstract, urban elements and including them in the costumes as well as the set,” said Jason Stankowski, technical director for the show.
Tickets cost $10 pp and are available at Glastonbury Youth and Family Services (321 Hubbard Street, Glastonbury, CT) and at the door performance nights.

Along with producing The Wiz, cast members give back to the community by having “spirit nights” once a week where they donate toiletries for military personnel, canned goods for our local food shelter, school supplies and toys for local children.
The Summer Musical is one of the many programs offered by Glastonbury Youth and Family Services designed to foster an intergenerational community, offering empowerment opportunities to young people, teaching social and communication skills, and encouraging children to keep striving and growing.
