Eversource in Midst of Extensive Trimming Project in Glastonbury
Eversource is spending more than $100,000 on tree work in Glastonbury.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Eversource Energy on Monday said it is in the midst of "investing" more than $100,000 in tree work in Glastonbury, where pruning along 6 miles of overhead electric lines is under way.
The plan is to trim trees "that threaten electric reliability," utility officials said.
“While we all love our trees, they can have a devastating effect on the electric system, especially during a storm,” said Eversource Manager of Vegetation Management in Connecticut Sean Redding. “We’re always working to serve our customers better and consistent tree trimming helps to improve day-to-day reliability during all types of weather. As a result, we continue to see fewer power outages where this work has been done.”
