GLASTONBURY, CT — Underground utility work is underway and expanding in parts of Glastonbury as Frontier Communications and its contractor, Parkside Utility, move forward with a fiber-optic network expansion in the Morgan Drive and Tall Timbers Road neighborhoods, municipal officials said.

The project is aimed at increasing access to high-speed fiber service, giving residents additional options for internet, phone and television service, town officials said.

In the Morgan Drive area, construction is largely complete. Crews are expected to return in the spring to conduct final restoration work, including adding topsoil, reseeding grass in disturbed areas and repaving driveway aprons affected during installation of the fiber-optic lines, according to town officials.
