Fire Destroys Another Home in Glastonbury

For the second time in less than 12 hours, a home has been destroyed by fire displacing residents.

Glastonbury firefighters responded to a second house fire in less than 12 hours that destroyed the residence, leaving two people homeless.

The fire, reported after 12 a.m. Sunday, destroyed the Foote Road home where two women lived, according to reports.The women escaped, however, some pets are missing, according to WTIC.

Glastonbury Fire Chief Michael Thurz told WFSB the home at 214 Foote Rd. was fully engulfed with fire when firefighters arrived about 12:30 a.m. A next door neighbor told the television station that the residents recently completed a renovation of the home.

Less than 12 hours earlier, Glastonbury firefighters battled a fire that destroyed a Chimney Sweep Hill Road home that apparently started as a truck fire in the home’s garage and spread to the rest of the structure. Three people were left homeless by that Saturday afternoon fire, according to the reports.

The cause of the fires remain under investigation, according to the reports.
