Glastonbury Boys Open Basketball Tournament With Bye

GLASTONBURY, CT — Brackets for the CIAC boys basketball tournaments were released Wednesday morning, and Glastonbury High School will get a few extra days of practice before opening competition.

The Tomahawks (15-5) are the No. 6 seed in Division II, drawing a first-round bye, and will host a second-round game against the WCA-Middletown winner March 8 at 7 p.m.

Other first-round matchups in Division II for teams from Patch towns in Hartford and Tolland counties include:

• No. 1 Simsbury (18-2), bye
• No. 3 Wethersfield (16-4), bye
• No. 25 Bloomfield (10-10) at No. 8 Manchester (15-5)
• No. 24 Hartford Public (10-10) at No. 9 Amity Regional (15-5)
