Glastonbury Boys Volleyball Opening Tournament On the Road

GLASTONBURY, CT — As brackets for the CIAC boys volleyball championships were released Friday morning, Glastonbury High School found itself beginning its quest for its first state title in 16 years with an away match.

The Tomahawks are the No. 13 seed in Class L, and will open the tournament by visiting No. 4 East Hartford Wednesday.

The top seeds for the two state tournaments are Staples (Class L) and Newington (Class M).

Here are the opening matchups for teams from schools in Patch towns in Hartford and Tolland counties. Click the class headers for complete brackets.

Class L

1st Round - May 30

• No. 13 Glastonbury at No. 4 East Hartford
• No. 12 Shelton at No. 5 Southington
• No. 10 Cheshire at No. 7 Hall
• No. 11 Enfield at No. 6 Darien

Class M

1st Round - May 30

• No. 1 Newington, bye
• No. 5 South Windsor, bye
• No. 9 Daniel Hand at No. 8 Farmington
• No. 10 Wethersfield at No. 7 Rockville
