Glastonbury Cops Break Up Mobile Pot Store: Report

A traffic stop led to a marijuana sales bust in Glastonbury, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A traffic stop led to a marijuana sales bust in Glastonbury, police said.

While on patrol at 9 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Griswold Street by Main Street, according to a report. Police discovered that the owner of the vehicle, Diego Ayala, 21, of East Hartford, had an active arrest warrant and was stopped, according to a report.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted and Ayala was taken into custody on the warrant for failure to respond to a payable violation, according to a report.

Police noticed a heavy odor of marijuana in the car and a subsequent search yeilded a "large quantity" of the drug, packaged for individual sale, along with multiple cell phones and a large amount of cash, according to a report.

Ayala was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, according to a report.
