Glastonbury Drivers: Holiday Warnings from State Police
State police are out in force this weekend.

State police will be out in force with extra patrols throughout the Labor Day weekend in Hartford and Tolland counties.
Motorists should expect heavy traffic, exercise caution, allow extra time to reach their destinations, state police said. Motorists should not text while driving set GPS destinations prior to traveling and use a hands-free devices when talking on cellphones, state police said.
Troopers are utilizing both traditional and nontraditional state police vehicles on the roads searching for "reckless and intoxicated drivers."

In the Troop H patrol area, roving patrols will be on interstates 84, 91, 291 and 384 and on routes 2, 9 5 and 15, state police said.
In the Troop C coverage area, roving patrols will be on Interstate-84 and routes 30, 32, 44, 74, 83, 190, 195 in towns of Ashford, Ellington, Mansfield, Somers, Stafford, Tolland, Union and Willington.
