Glastonbury HS Alum Ready for Another Olympic Trials
Donn Cabral made the Olympic steeplechase squad four years ago.

GLASTONBIRY, CT - Glastonbury High School product Donn Cabral is trying to qualify for his second consecutive Olympics in the steeplechase this summer.
The Hartford Courant recently caught up with Cabral, who said they key to his training is to set himself up to avoid "the bad day."
Cabral is scheduled to run in a preliminary heat at the U.S. Olympic trials in Eugene, Ore., on July 4.

The final is July 8 if he gets in.
The top three Americans in the event make the U.S. Olympic team for the August Games in Rio de Janeiro. Cabral qualified for the Olympics in his first attempt four years ago, running the trials final in 8:19.81 and finishing second in the steeplechase, an event that combines running, hurdling and jumping over a water pit on the track. He now runs for the New Jersey-New York Track Club.
