GLASTONBURY, CT — The town of Glastonbury is in the process of launching a new web-based permitting system called OpenGov on June 13.

As the town shifts from the current system to the new one, there will be a brief blackout period during which time the town will not be accepting any new permit submissions. Officials said the period of system inaccessibility will begin at 4:30 p.m. on June 8 end at midnight on June 12. During that time, the town will not accept new permit applications, so residents and contractors who need to submit a building or engineering permit application should plan accordingly, officials said.

Officials said the new OpenGov system will go live on June 13, and permits/applications will again be accepted immediately upon the system launch.

Any existing/pending permits will not be affected by the change, officials said.

The system launch was originally slated for the spring, but, the timeline was extended due to some "organizational restructuring within the vendor project team and the specialized knowledge required to manage the complex data migration," officials said.
