Glastonbury Man Charged with Stealing $5K from South Windsor Business
Police say surveillance video led to the identity of the suspect, who had previously sold the business owner a leaf blower.

South Windsor Police charged a Glastonbury man with allegedly stealing $5,000 from a business on John Fitch Boulevard over the summer.
Police arrested Darrell Kennedy, 43, of 26 Three Mile Road, Glastonbury, on a warrant Monday morning. He was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and first-degree failure to appear.
Kennedy’s charges stem from a July 2015 incident at a business on John Fitch Blvd., according to Deputy Chief Scott Custer.

Custer said the store owner noticed about $5,000 missing from the office and a review of security footage showed the suspect taking the money. The business owner recognized the man because he, Kennedy, had sold the business owner a leaf blower and offered his driver’s license for identification, according to Custer.
Officers were unable to immediately locate Kennedy and an arrest warrant was obtained and served on Monday. Officers also served a re-arrest warrant held by Windsor Police for Kennedy, charging him with Failure to Appear on their charges.

Kennedy was held on a $20,000 surety bond and was scheduled to be presented at Manchester Superior Court later Monday morning.
