Glastonbury Man Gets Kidnapping Charge After Highway Gun Incident

A Glastonbury man was arrested on a kidnapping charge after a gun incident inside a moving car Monday evening.

GLASTONBURY/EAST HARTFORD, CT — A Glastonbury man was arrested on a kidnapping charge after a gun incident inside a moving car Monday evening, state police said.

At 6:27 p.m., state police received a 911 "distress call" from someone being threatened with a gun inside a moving vehicle, according to a report. The car was traveling between the Glastonbury/East Hartford line on Route 2 and Hartford on Interstate-84 Westbound, according to a report.

The caller gave state police a description of the vehicle and state police were able to intercept it, according to a report.

The driver was identified as 26-year-old Gonzalo Cisneros-Yanes, whose listed address is on Goodrich Road in Glastonbury. He was charged with first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, first-degree threatening, second-degree unlawful restraint, third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, according to a report.

State police classified the incident as domestic in nature and said in a report that Cisneros-Yanes was the "aggressor."

He was booked and held on a $500,000 bond and was to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Tuesday, according to a report.
