Glastonbury Native Ingraham Poised for Prime Fox Show: Reports

Multiple reports have Laura Ingraham getting a new show on Fox

GLASTONBURY, CT — Conservative political voice and Glastonbury native Laura Ingraham seems primed for a prime spot in the Fox News prime time lineup.

The talk show host, political commentator and author graduated from Glastonbury High School in 1981.

The New York Times is reporting that Ingraham, an early supporter of Donald Trump's presidency who had been rumored for the White House press secretary post, is negotiating a deal with Fox to anchor its 10 p.m. TV slot.

The Times story cited conversations with "two people briefed on the matter who requested anonymity to describe private discussions."

CNN Money reported that her new show will be part of a "broader change" to the network's top-rated prime time lineup. Sean Hannity's show, currently at 10 p.m., will move one hour earlier to 9 p.m., according to the CNN story.

And "The Five," a talk show originally named for its 5 p.m. time slot, will shift from 9 p.m. back to its hour it was named for, according to the story.

The Times story mentioned that Fox is also facing stiff ratings competition for the first time as MSNBC’s hosts have benefited from a surge in liberal viewership since the presidential election.

The start date for the new series is unknown, The Hill reported.

The Hill cited political insider Matt Drudge Tweeting that it is "Laura Ingraham's prime time to shine!"
